DHARWAD: A student of the government post-matric hostel at Gandhinagar here consumed acid stored in a bottle, mistaking it for water, on June 30. He is now recuperating in a hospital.
Kuber Lamani, a student of the hostel which comes under the Social Welfare Department, hails from Mylara village in Hoovinahadagali taluk of Vijayanagar district. He is pursuing BA course at Anjuman College in Dharwad.
Kuber has undergone throat surgery after the mishap. The incident occurred in Vidyagiri police limits.
