TUMAKUR: Davanagere Police Sub-Inspector Nagarajappa was found hanging in a lodge in Tumakuru city. A death note in the room stated that he was responsible for his suicide due to a family dispute and apologising to the hotel owner.
According to preliminary investigation, Nagarajappa had taken a room at the Dwaraka hotel on the 4th floor on July 1 at 7 am and hadn’t come out since then. The lodge staff tried calling him, but he didn’t answer. When foul smell started coming from the room, the staff informed the owner, who found the body hanging upon opening the door.
The police investigation revealed that Nagarajappa had hanged himself about four days ago, and the body had decomposed. The Tumakuru city police station visited the hotel and sent the body to the Tumakuru district hospital morgue for post-mortem examination. The death note mentioned that Nagarajappa took his own life due to family disputes.
