BENGALURU: Four students, studying engineering and BCom, were arrested by Chikkajala police for allegedly extorting gold ornaments from their friend, Chandan, under the guise of a ‘jolly ride.’ The arrested accused are Pavan, Prem Shetty, Tarun and Achal.
The accused had invited Chandan to a party on May 1 and planned a jolly ride after leaving the pub. Two of the accused on a bike stopped Chandan’s car and had robbed gold jewellery worth Rs 3 lakh from him.
During police interrogation, it was revealed that the friends had hired some men to commit the robbery. A case has been registered at the Chikkajala police station.
