RAICHUR: A student of Raichur University suffered a broken leg after a KKRTC bus ran over her at the Lingasugur bus stand on Friday. She is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bagalkot.
Saraswathi, a resident of Kotha village, was attempting to board a bus when she lost her balance and fell to the ground. The bus ran over her leg, badly crushing it. She had flagged down the bus, but when the driver did not stop, she ran behind the bus and came under it, police said.
Saraswathi was heading back home, but none of the express and non-stop buses had allowed her to board. As it was getting late, she tried to board the next bus which was immediately available when the incident occurred. The Lingasugur police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
