BENGALURU: A techie named Swapnil Nagesh Mali (28), hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was arrested by the Electronics City police for secretly filming videos of a female colleague in a toilet.
The incident occurred when the accused was standing on the commode in an adjacent toilet on the company’s premises and recording a video of a woman on his mobile phone. The reflection of the video was visible on the opposite door.
A woman spotted the reflection and immediately came out, but she didn’t see anyone suspicious. However, when she went inside the toilet to investigate, she caught the accused red-handed. The accused apologised when the woman raised an alarm.
When the company’s HR staff checked the accused’s mobile phone, they found similar videos of over 30 women. Despite this, the company management remained silent after apologising to the accused.
The husband of the woman who spotted the accused was outraged and created a ruckus. He later filed a complaint with the Electronics City police station, leading to the accused’s arrest.
