BENGALURU: Gold ornaments worth lakhs of rupees was stolen from an elderly woman passenger’s bag by unidentified persons who pretended to board a bus at Kolar’s new bus stand.
Bhagyamma, a resident of Shetty Madamangala in Kolar taluk, was traveling from Kolar bus stand to Bangarapet. She had kept some gold ornaments in her bag and was heading to her relative’s house in Attigirikoppa village for a festival.
Unidentified thieves stole the bag containing around 45 grams of gold ornaments worth approximately Rs 4 lakh and fled. The theft is suspected to have taken place while Bhagyamma was boarding the bus or while she was on the bus.
A case has been registered at the Kolar city police station, and the police are searching for the accused.
