RAICHUR: A worker died and another was seriously injured in an air blast incident at the Hatti Gold Mines in Lingasugur taluk of the district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sharanabasava (40), and the injured worker is Nirupadi.
The incident occurred in the Mallappa shaft of the gold mine at a depth of around 2,800 feet. There are concerns that workers may be trapped underground. A rescue operation is under way by the gold mine’s rescue team. The injured worker has been admitted to the gold mine hospital.
