BELAGAVI: The Market police police have arrested an absconding minor, who is the third accused in the gangrape of a 15-year-old girl at a resort on the outskirts of the city. The police have also arrested two other people who were running the resort from a rented building.
The third accused is the son of a circle police inspector who is posted in another district. While Saqeeb and another accused minor had been arrested after the gangrape case was registered, the third accused, also a minor, was absconding.
The police have also arrested Rohan Patel and Ashutosh Patel who were running the resort from a rented house. They were paying Rs 20,000 per month as rent and had converted the house into a resort.
With this, the number of arrests in the case has gone up to five. The accused have been sent to judicial custody while the minors are lodged in a juvenile home.
