Couple, 3 neighbours, injured after fire breaks out in LPG cylinder in Hunsur village

The fire broke out while changing the cylinder.

MYSURU: Five people sustained burn injuries after an LPG cylinder leaked in a house at Kalkunike village near Hunsur on Saturday. The injured were rushed to KR Hospital in Mysuru.

The incident occurred at the house of one Ningaraju at Kurjan Beedi in Kalkunike when the inmates of the house were changing a LPG cylinder. However, the gas leaked, causing a fire. Ningaraju, his wife Jyothi, and their neighbours Raniamma, Sheela and Nagamma, who rushed to the couple’s rescue, sustained burns.

The MLA consoled the father of the victim and visited the injured in hospital.

The neighbours had rushed to Ningaraju’s house after hearing a loud noise, but their clothes too caught fire. Lawmaker G D Harish Gowda visited the injured in hospital and inquired about their health. A case has been registered at the Hunsur town police station.
