BENGALURU: After his expulsion from the BJP, Vijayapura City MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal seems to have softened his stance. He seems to be in no mood to float a new party or severe his ties with the BJP completely.
Yatnal has now decided to write a letter to the BJP top brass requesting them to revoke the expulsion order. In the letter, he is likely to promise to work within the party’s framework from now on.
Yatnal’s close associates have been trying to persuade him to write the letter, and he is expected to do so soon. According to sources, the letter may also include a request to reconsider some of the issues he had raised earlier, such as dynastic politics, personal interests and discrimination within the party. He is likely write a letter in the two days.
The sources said Yatnal may give an assurance to the high command that he will raise his concerns through proper channels in the future. By taking this step, Yatnal may be trying to pave the way for his return to the party. However, it’s unclear how the BJP top brass will respond to his request.
