The arrested Pavithra works at a government school in Mysuru and hails from Doddalahalli in Kanakapura taluk. She had been divorced and living in Mysuru. She told the Ramanagara CEN police that she was being harassed by her neighbours and hence she posted the videos on April 8 claiming to be D K Suresh’s wife so that her neighbours would stop harassing her.

Pavithra had also edited a photograph of herself and DK Suresh and posted it on Facebook. After the videos were uploaded on social media, advocate Pradeep lodged a complaint with the Ramanagara police stating that the videos were posted with ill intention to bring disrepute to the Congress leader. The complaint also said that the Congress party symbol had been misused.
