DAVANAGERE: An undertrial at the district jail here died due to ill health while undergoing treatment at hospital. The deceased was identified as Manjunath (32).
The undertrial was in judicial custody in a theft case which was reported in Vidyanagar police limits. After he fell ill, the prison staff shifted him to the Chitageri district hospital where he died without responding to treatment.
The body was shifted to the district hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The jail staff followed legal procecures as the deceased was an undertrial prisoner.
