BENGALURU: A woman committed suicide, accusing her husband, who is a techie, of having an affair with his ex-girlfriend. The victim has been identified as Bahar Asma and the accused is Bashirulla.
The victim Asma’s parents had alleged that Bashirulla was trying to portray their daughter’s death as a suicide to cover up his own involvement in the case. The police had registered an FIR against Bashirulla for abetment ofsuicide and had taken him into custody for investigation.
During interrogation, Bashirulla admitted to having an affair with his ex-girlfriend, which his wife couldn’t tolerate. He claimed that his wife’s constant quarrels with him had led him to start ignoring her, which led to her taking her own life.
According to police sources, Bashirulla had reconnected with his college girlfriend after marriage, and this led him to neglect his wife and develop a relationship with the ex-girlfriend. Further investigation is under way.
