MANDYA: A woman and her four children had a lucky escape after a fire broke out in their house due to an electrical short circuit, at Beedi Colony here on Friday.
The house belongs to one Salman Pasha and the fire quickly engulfed the building. All the belongings of the tenant’s family were burnt, but the woman and her children managed to escape with the help of neighbours.
The neighbours tried to put out the fire, but by that time, all the household belongings and documents were burnt. A case has been registered at the Central police station.
The woman’s husband said he works as a mason and had gone out to have tea when there was a power cut. “Soon, the fire broke out where my wife and children were sleeping. The neighbours helped rescue my family and brought out the LPG cylinder. We have lost everything”.
