KARWAR: Students of the Indira Residentia School at Pala in Mundgod taluk, who are preparing for their examinations were made to sweep their hostel and wash vessels in violation of norms issued by the Primary Education Department.
There are 207 students in the school and the hostel facility is available for those between Classes 6 and 10. But the students, including SSLC students, are allegedly being made to sweep the dining hall and wash the vessels in the kitchen.
The residential school has staff employed for cleaning and cooking in shifts, yet students are tasked with cleaning and washing. The wires of the CCTV cameras have also been snipped so that no evidence is available to higher-ups, sources pointed out.
