BENGALURU: For the first time, the Karnataka government has organised a unique event called Cauvery Aarati, similar to the Ganga Aarti that takes place in Varanasi, to pay respects to the Cauvery river, which will take place on March 21st at Sankey Tank in Sadashivanagar. The event will be held in the evening.
The Cauvery aarti programme will be performed similar to the Varanasi’s Ganga Aarti, in a grand manner. Priests from Uttar Pradesh will perform the rituals.

Sankey Tank was chosen as the venue for the Cauvery aarti because the Vrishabhavathi river, a tributary of the Cauvery, flows into the lake. Preparations have already been made by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board for the Cauvery aarti.
