CHIKKAMAGALUR: A lone tusker was spotted in a residential locality at Nallur, about 2 km Chikkamagalur town, on Thursday night. Movements of the elephant were captured on CCTV cameras.
The elephant can be seen confronted by street dogs and after some time, makes a dash due to the constant barking by the dogs. The Forest Department staff had a tough time driving the elephant back into the forests.
Meanwhile, a lone tusker was spotted close to the highway near Nallur village on Thursday night, and it was not immediately known if it was the same tusker which entered the residential locality. The elephant has camped in the area around Serai resort and the Mattavara Inspection Bungalow.
