Illegal Bangla immigrant arrested in Bengaluru

BENGALURU: A Bangladeshi immigrant, Mohammed Siddiq (55), has been arrested by the Kadugodi police in Bengaluru for illegally staying in India.

Siddiq had obtained fake documents, including a passport, voter ID card and PAN card, using a forged school transfer certificate from a school in Malda district in West Bengal. The accused had been living illegally in a shed at Bidire Agrahara near Doddabanahalli in Kadugodi.

During police interrogation, Siddiq confessed to have obtained fake documents. A case has been registered against him under the Foreigners Act and BNS sections 336(3), 340(2), and 339. Siddiq had entered India illegally in 2006 and had been living in the country without valid documents. The police have taken action against him for violating Indian laws.
