HASSAN: A woman and her son ended their lives by jumping into a lake at Kabballi village in Channarayapatna taluk on Monday. The deceased were identified as Jayanthi (60) and Bharat (32) and domestic dispute is suspected for the suicide.
Bharat got married to Geetha of Baguranahalli in Arasikere taluk just eight months ago, but Geetha and Jayanthi couldn’t get along well. Fed up of the frequent quarrels, Geetha had gone back to her parental home.
The two families and villagers had negotiated peace twice, but Geetha chose to go back to her village. Both Jayanthi and Bharat were said to be upset over this and ended their lives. The Hiresave police visited the spot and have registered a case.
