BENGALURU: The state government has allocated Rs 600 crore for the development of basic infrastructure in city corporations of the state under UIDF in the current year. Under Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Vikas Yojane 2.0, grant of Rs 2,000 crore has been announced.
The Vijayapura airport is being constructed at a cost of Rs 348 crore and will be operationalised in the year 2025-26. An amount of Rs 53 crore has been released for the construction works of Raichur airport being undertaken at a total project cost of Rs 219 crore, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced in the budget on Friday.
A grant of Rs 319 crore has been released for the land acquisition process for expansion of runway at Mysuru Airport. Necessary steps will be taken for utility shifting for this purpose. The state government has taken up nine projects with the railways on a 50:50 basis. The entire land acquisition cost for seven of these projects will be borne fully by the state government. The state will spend Rs 9,847 crore on these projects whose total project cost is Rs.16,235 crore. An allocation of Rs 600 crore has been made in the year 2025-26.
The tender process for the remaining two corridors of the Bengaluru Suburban Railway project will be completed and the project will be implemented in a time-bound manner. The government has also allocated Rs 406 crore Baiyappanahalli-Hosur and Yeshwantpur-Channasandra railway line doubling projects. About 70 km of railway lines are intended to be doubled on the Baiyappanahalli-Hosur and Yeshwantapura-Channasandra routes at an estimated cost of Rs 812 crore.
Steps will be taken to establish a Water Transport Museum and Experience Centre at Mangaluru and its management will be taken up on PPP mode. A state-of-the-art Bengaluru Signature Park will be developed in Devanahalli in 407 acre area. An amount of Rs 50 crore has already been released to provide connectivity to this area for building a flyover under the state government funds.
Municipal Administration
- Rs 600 crore is allocated for infrastructure upgradation in Municipal Corporations under UIDF scheme.
- Raichur, Bidar, and Hassan City Municipal Councils to be upgraded as municipal corporations. Dharwad City Corporation to be newly created.
- ₹500 crore is set aside for Nagarotthana 4.0 scheme in 2025-26.
- Online Fees and taxes collection for urban services.
- E-office to be introduced in all Urban Local Bodies.
- A Rs 705 crore drinking water project for Ramanagara and Ullala.
- 233 more drinking water projects to be taken up under Amrut 2.0.
- UGD projects costing Rs. 142 crore in ULBs.
- Unified Land Management System (ULMS) to be upgraded for faster approval of building plans.
Infrastructure Development
- Vijayapura Airport will commence operations in 2025-26.

PWD
- 1,850 km of state highways and 2,750 km of district roads will be completed at a cost of Rs.4,848 crore.
- Six bridges to be constructed in Dakshina Kannada, Vijayapura, Mysuru and Kalaburagi district.
- 39 dilapidated bridges will be repaired and reconstructed at a cost of Rs 1,000 crore.
- Rain-damaged roads in Kodagu will be rebuilt at a cost of Rs 20 crore.
- While 20 km of completed, remaining work of Raichur-Sindhanur road, the Rs 1,696 crore project will finish this year.
- Part of the Rs 3,190 crore Devanahalli-TN Border road will be completed.
- 1,317 km of Core Road Network will be developed under SHDP Phase-V.
- 11 roads of 875 km of roads will be developed under K-SHIP IV.
- DPR will be obtain for Raichuru and Bailahongala ring road, expansion of Ribbonpalli-Vagdari and Maddur.
Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Initiatives
- Pragati Patha Scheme of Rs. 5,200 crore for rural road connectivity to be implemented from the current year.
- Under Jal Jeevan Mission State allocation for 2025-26 is Rs.6,050 crore.
- Under Kalyana Patha Scheme, 286 works will be completed with a Rs. 1,000 crore.
- Capacity building and Personality Development programmes for Women and Children in Arivu libraries in Panchayath level.
- Solar micro-grids will be set up under PPP basis in Gram Panchayats.
- ‘e-Swathu Abhiyan’ to be started in Grama Panchayats. Panchatantra software to be extended to Zilla Panchayats and Taluk Panchayats.
- Adoption of Gram Panchayats by senior officers.
- GIS-based mobile & Web application for rural water supply monitoring.
