2.7 lakh jobs vacant in govt departments

BENGALURU: The Karnataka government has a significant number of vacant posts, with over 2.7 lakh positions unfilled. According to government data, out of approximately 7,80,748 government positions, 2,76,386 posts are vacant.

The vacant posts include 16,017 Group ‘D’ posts, 1,67,734 Group ‘C’ posts, 1,66,021 Group ‘B’ posts, and 77,614 Group ‘A’ posts. Key departments such as health, education, rural development, and social welfare have thousands of vacant posts, with the Department of School Education having the highest number of vacancies at 70,727 posts.

Other departments with significant vacancies include animal husbandry, backward classes welfare, finance, higher education, home affairs, law, health, revenue, rural development, social welfare, agriculture, personnel administration, women and child welfare, and minority welfare. Will CM Siddaramaiah make an announcement in the budget to fill the vacancies? Whether the CM announces a post guarantee for government job aspirants in the budget.
