BENGALURU: A woman has filed a complaint against a man, Hemant, for harassment and blackmail. The two had met on Instagram three years ago and had become good friends after meeting each other. The woman took many photos with Hemanth when they were friends. Taking advantage of this, Hemant started torturing her.
The woman had blocked Hemant’s Instagram account due to his misbehaviour, but he continued to harass her. He even went to her house and created a ruckus, following which the woman filed a complaint against him at the Kamakshipalya police station.
Despite the police warning him, Hemant continued to harass the woman. He edited a video of the two together and shared it on WhatsApp groups, causing trouble for the woman. The woman is now engaged to another man, but Hemant is threatening to kill her if she marries anyone else.
Hemant has been threatening the woman and her family, saying he will kill them if they don’t cancel the wedding. He even went to the woman’s grandmother’s house and threatened to throw acid on her. The woman has now accused him of harassment, blackmail, and criminal intimidation.
The police have issued a notice to Hemant, asking him to appear for questioning. The police have asked Hemant to provide a clear explanation for his actions. If he fails to do so, further action will be taken against him.
