Minister’s aide snatches keys of police vehicle, threatens police personnel

The minister's aide snatched the keys of a police patrol vehicle and refused to give it back.

CHITRADURGA: An aide of Planning and Statistics Minister D Sudhakar snatched the keys of a Hoysala police patrol vehicle and threatened the police personnel on Sunday night. He also threatened to park his car on the road and create a traffic jam.

Police constables Devaraj and Nagaraj were questioning a groupo of youths who were sitting by the roadside and consuming alcohol. Bharat Reddy, an aide of minister Sudhakar, snatched the keys of the patrol vehicle and got into an argument with the policemen, questioning whether they had the authority to thrash somebody and to call the IGP.

After additional police forces arrived, Bharat Reddy and his men left the spot. A video of the altercation has gone viral on social media and the Extension police have registered a case against Bharat Reddy and others.
