BALLARI: A fire broke out at an ATM kiosk due to an electrical short circuit on the government college road at Hosapete in Vijayanagar district on Friday morning. About Rs 16 lakh cash stored in the ATM was destroyed in the fire.
Two fire tenders were deployed to put out the blaze. Apart from the cash in the SBI ATM, the building has also suffered damage of Rs 40-50 lakh, it is estimated. Bank and police personnel visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
