9-year-old Bengaluru boy drowns and dies in Arkavathi river near Ramanagara

RAMANAGARA: A nine-year-old boy died after he drowned in the Arkavathi river near Hallimala on the outskirts of the town on Monday. The deceased was identified as Mohammed Saif, a resident of Lakkasandra in Bengaluru.

Saif family, including his father Riyaz and mother Sameem, had gone to the dargah near Hallimala. After visiting the dargah, Saif went to the river to play, but was swept away and died.

The Fire and Emergency Services personnel conducted a search and rescue operation and finally fished out the body. A case has been registered at the Ramanagara Rural police station.
