BENGALURU: A nine-month-old baby admitted to Vani Vilas Hospital in Bengaluru has tested positive for Covid-19. The baby, a resident of Hosakote in Bengaluru Rural district, was initially admitted to a private hospital and later shifted to Vani Vilas Hospital.
Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has instructed officials to monitor the Covid situation after the baby’s report returned positive.
The minister assured that there is no need for panic and that the government is prepared to handle the situation. Currently, there are 257 active cases across the country, with Kerala reporting 186 cases of which 95 are active cases. Karnataka has reported 33 cases with 16 active cases.
Andhra Pradesh has mandated the use of masks in crowded areas and gatherings, advising individuals to seek testing if they are suffering from any symptoms. Gujarat has also reported 15 cases and Andhra Pradesh reported 19 positive cases on Thursday.
