CHITRADURGA: With the Murugharajendra Mutt seer Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru getting embroiled in two POCSO cases and being lodged in judicial custody, the Department of Women and Child Welfare is now planning to be shift nine children from Murugha Mutt-run orphanage to the Government Madilu Adoption Centre in Bengaluru.

Of the nine children, four are girls and five are boys, all aged below six. The children are being shifted after a four-and-a-half-year-old girl child and another 17-year-old girl were suspiciously found in the mutt. A complaint was filed on the charges of violation of Juvenile Justice Act at the Chitradurga Rural police station.

Meanwhile, the police produced the Murugha Mutt seer before the Chitradurga Second Additional and Sessions Court on Friday. The court had extended judicial custody of the seer till November 3.
