BENGALURU: Residents of NC Colony and Pottery Colony in Pulakeshinagar are living in pathetic conditions due to ongoing metro and railway construction work.

When it rains, water rushes into over 80 houses, causing immense problems. The area is known for waterlogging during rainfall, with water levels rising up to 4-5 feet in some areas. This issue has been plaguing the residents for years, but the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has done nothing to resolve the problem.

Residents are fed up with the situation, which disrupts their peaceful life. They’re frustrated with the waterlogging, which makes their homes uninhabitable. The residents are venting out their anger, demanding a solution to the long-standing issue.

Local resident Ratnamma said, “There is no way for rainwater to flow and it enters houses. The problem has existed for 20 years, even before Metro work started. Rainwater flows to low-lying areas. The government should take steps to ensure water does not inundate the area during monsoon”.

Another resident, Babu, said, “It is very difficult to walk on this road during monsoon. No development work can happen until the metro construction work is completed. It is difficult for vehicles to use this road”.
