76 of 119 families moved into Kogilu colony only 6 months ago, reveals survey

BENGALURU: Amid the clamour for resettlement of families evicted from Kogilu recently an official survey has revealed that 76 of the 119 families had been living there for the past six months.

Of the 119 families that were evicted, 76 have been residing at Fakir Colony and Wasim Colony for six months, while 37 are original Bengaluru residents, and six other families moved in a few years ago, the survey findings, accessed by Public TV reveal.

Those affected are to be alloted flats.

The Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation is set to submit a shortlist of those eligible for alternative housing, and the cabinet meeting will discuss the eligibility of 37 families. Documents of these 37 eligible families are being verified by the police. Once verified, they will be allocated houses, officials said.
