CHITRADURGA: A woman and her two daughters ended their lives by consuming poison at their house at Gopanahalli village in Challakere taluk, in what seems to be a suicide pact.
The deceased have been identified as Thipakka (70), Marakka (50) and Dyamakka (40). One month ago, Thipakka’s son Dyamanna had died due to illness. The police suspect that the three women were upset over his death and that they were suffering from depression.
The case came to light when the women did not come out of the house after 4 am on Thursday. Suspecting something amiss, the neighbours called the Challakere police. The villagers opened the door of the house in the presence of the police on Thursday night only to find all the three women dead.
A case has been registered at the Challakere police station and further investigation is under way.
