Locals said, “It happened due to the negligence of Hescom officials. Instead of erecting an electricity pole, the Hescom staff had laid the power line on the tree which was just in front of Basappa’s house. The boy touched the live wire accidentally while playing near the tree and died”.

A case has been registered at Khanapur police station.
