BAGALKOT: Seven people who were on an upper floor suffered minor injuries while three bikes and a house were damaged due to fire caused by a lamp in Gaddanakeri Cross in the district.

A lamp was lit in front of Rajendra Tapashetty’s house in the city. The oil spilled from the lamp in front of the house and caught fire. Due to this, 3 bikes that were parked in front of the house were burnt to ashes. Later, the house caught fire and the LPG cylinder in the kitchen also leaked. Due to this, the intensity of the fire increased further.

The Tapashetty family members ran out of the house and were saved. Seven people who were on the upper floor suffered minor injuries from the fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.

The Kaladagi police inspected the scene. In a preliminary investigation, the cause of the fire is believed to be the lamp coming into contact with the oil stored near the house for a borewell business.
