BENGALURU: A shocking incident has come to light in Nallurhalli near Whitefield, where a 6-year-old girl, identified as Shahjahan Khatoon, was killed by an unidentified person out of vengeance against her mother, on Tuesday afternoon.
The girl’s mother, who hails from Kolkata, had been involved in disputes with neighbours, and in a fit of rage, the daughter was strangled and her body stuffed into a bag and disposed in a drain.

The Whitefield police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police Saidulu Adavath said, “The family, who are labourers, had lodged a complaint that the child was missing from January 5 following which a search was lodged”.

“The girl was at home in the morning but later went missing. When we checked CCTV footage and other technical evidence, we came to know that she went with a neighbour. A combing operation was carried out when the body was found in a bag. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. We have identified the suspect and teams are out to arrest the accused. Prima facie, there are no injuries on the body except for strangulation marks”, the DCP added.
