BENGALURU: The state government has decided to white-top 500 km of roads in the city. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced this on social media, stating that the project aims to cover 500 km of roads over the next three years at a cost of Rs 1,700 crore.

The project includes developing 145 km of roads with white-topping and black topping. White-topping involves laying a layer of concrete on roads, improving their quality and reducing maintenance costs. This initiative aims to enhance Bengaluru’s road infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion.
