TUMAKURU: A five-year-old boy was electrocuted to death after he touched a barbed wire fence on which a snapped live power line had fallen, at Goraghatta village in Turuvekere taluk on Monday. The deceased was identified as Poshak Shetty.
A power line had snapped and had fallen on a wire fence while being still charged. The boy, who was playing outside his house, accidentally touched the wire fence and was electrocuted to death.
The parents and the villagers vented their anger at Bescom officials for not turning off the power when a line had snapped and blamed the Bescom staff for the boy’s death. The Dandinashivara police have registered a case.
