BELAGAVI: A 45-year-old man allegedly sexually assaulted a five-year-old girl after luring her by giving her a mobile phone, in Katakol police limits in Ramdurg taluk. He later committed suicide.
The accused Erappa Karadi had sexualy assaulted the child when no one was at his house. But before the word spread about his act in the village, he committed suicide by hanging.
After post-mortem examination, the last rites of Erappa were conducted on Monday evening. The Katakol police have registered a case under the POCSO Act.
