MADIKERI: At least 40 passengers were injured after a KSRTC bus in which they were travelling overturned when the driver lost control and the bus fell into a ditch, at Kavadi in Virajpet taluk on Tuesday.
The bus belongs to the Hassan depot and was travelling from Ernakulam in Kerala to Hassan via Virajpet in Kodagu. The driver lost control and the bus overturned and fell into a ditch around 4.30 am. The passengers and driver sustained minor injuries.
Locals said that the accident occurred due to thick fog. A case has been registered at the Virajpet Rural police station. Transport department officials said that all the passengers were safe.
