MANGALURU: Four students of the St Joseph Engineering College at Vamanjoor in Mangaluru were suspended after a video of them dancing while wearing burqas at an event organised in the college on Thursday, went viral.
The students danced to a Bollywood song wearing burqas during a programme at the St Joseph Engineering College and other students were seen cheering them on in the video. The video has now gone viral on social media.
While some religious leaders raised objection to the students dancing while wearing burqas, the Muslim community has condemned their actions.
The college in-charge Principal, Dr Sudheer, has now issued a statement to the media condemning the viral video, saying that the dance was not part of the approved programme and that the students involved have been suspended.
