4 labourers critical, 14 suffer injuries after vehicle carrying them overturns in Sakleshpur

HASSAN: At least four labourers were in critical condition while 14 others were injured after a vehicle carrying them overturned in Sakleshpur on Tuesday.

The labourers were being transported from Salem in Tamil Nadu to a coffee plantation in Kodagu when the driver lost control of the Tata Winger passenger vehicle, causing it to crash on National Highway-75.

Local residents and police rushed to the scene and rescued the labourers trapped under the vehicle and shifted them to the Hassan district hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding was the cause of the accident. The Sakleshpur Rural police station are investigating the incident.
