Two people died and several others were injured in the accident on the Bengaluru-Mysuru 10-lane expressway.

RAMANAGARA, KALABURAGI: Four people died and several others were seriously injured in two separate accidents in the early hours on Saturday.

A passenger vehicle (Tempo Traveller) rammed into a truck from behind on the 10-lane expressway near Mudugere Gate in Channapatna taluk. Two people, identified as Mahesh and Krishna, from Chikkade village in Pandavapura taluk, died on the spot. The front of the Temp Traveller was completely smashed due to the impact.

The occupants of the vehicle were returning from Tirupati when the accident occurred. All the injured were shifted to a hospital. The Channapatna traffic police visited the spot.

Two people died and five were seriously injured when the Tempo Traveller hit a sugarcane-laden parked truck.

In another incident, two people died on the spot and five others were seriously injured after a Tempo Traveller hit a parked truck laden with sugarcane near Gavanahalli Cross in Jewaragi taluk, Kalaburagi district. The driver Apparai Biradar (35) and Sanjukumar died on the spot while the injured were shifted to hospital.

Sixteen people, including 14 members of a family from Hagaragundi village had been on a trip and were returning home when the accident occurred. They were just about half-an-hour away from reaching their village. The Jewargi police visited the spot and removed the mangled remains of the vehicle.
