Deers and blackbucks found in S S Mallikarjun Farm House

DAVANGERE: Four people have been booked for violation of the violation of Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, after spotted deer, blackbucks, mongooses and foxes were found at a farmhouse belonging to former Congress MLA and minister S S Mallikarjun.

The Deputy Conservator of Forests Conservative has booked cases against the farmhouse manager Karibasavaiah, Senthil, and the farmhouse owner. The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police and the Forest Department had conducted a raid on the farmhouse on Wednesday.

Deers and blackbucks spotted in S S Mallikarjun

More than 18 spotter deer and blackbucks, which were found in the farmhouse, were seized by the forest officials, who plan to shift them to a safer place.

The Chief Conservator of Forests, Bengaluru, visited the farmhouse on Thursday and an investigation is under way with the support of district police.
