BENGALURU: A three-year-old boy accidentally fell from the second floor balcony of an apartment complex at Jnanabharati Enclave near Kengeri on Friday. With severe head injuries, the child is now undergoing treatment at a hospital.

CCTV cameras on the ground floor captured the moment when the boy fell to the ground.

Three-year-old Rahul was playing in the corridor on the second floor of the BDA aparment at Jnanabharati Enclave around 11 am while his parents Shivappa and Ambika were inside the house. The boy climbed on to a chair, lost his balance and fell over to the ground.

The boy’s parents immediately shifted the boy to a hospital.

Some neighbours immediately rushed to pick up the child. On hearing the commotion, the parents ran downstairs. With severe head injuries, the child was immediately shifted to a private hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

Rekha Rao, a resident of Jnanabharati Enclave.

“Apparently, the mother had given breakfast to the child and had gone into the kitchen. The boy climbed over a chair and fell by the time she came out. There was bleeding in the ear. This is the first time such an incident has occurred in the nine years since we have been living here. The parents usually would bring the children dowstairs to play in the evenings. The couple has three children and Rahul is the youngest”, said Rekha Rao, a resident.
