3 stabbed by gang of youths in Gadag for questioning drunk behaviour

A group, attacked four people with a knife for questioning them.

GADAG: Four youths stabbed three people with a knife in Killa locality in the town late on Friday night. However, the provocation for the stabbing was not known.

It is alleged that accused are activists of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI). The incident occurred in Gadag town police limits. The police have arrested the four accused and are questioning them.

Vasant Bakale, Gopala Khode, Madhu Badi were injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment at Gadag Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS). They sustained injuries in the eyes, chest, hands and stomach.

Gopal Khode, one of those injured in the attack, said the accused were drunk.

According to the injured, the four accused Ranganavadi Sadiq, Settlement Shivu, Vineet and one more person attacked them.

Four drunk youths came on the bike screaming at night and were using foul language. The three men, who were standing outside their house with friends, were suddenly attacked by the accused for questioning their behaviour.

The injured Gopal Khode and Vasant Bakale are undergoing treatment at Gadag district hospital.

Gopala Khode said, “The accused attacked us with a knife for questioning them. There were three-four people. It was very dark during night. They had a knife with them and we did not notice it earlier”.

Vasanth Bakale said, “There were four-five youths in the group who were all drunk. Gopal Khode questioned them about their behaviour on the road. Angered by this, they attacked us from behind. I do not know about those youths. I just went to sort out the issue, when they attacked on us”.
