BELAGAVI: Three people died on the spot after a lorry carrying cement collided with a Maruti Swift Dzire car in Budigoppa Cross in Savadatti taluk on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Kudachi police station ASI Y M Halakira’s wife and daughter, and the car driver.
The ASI’s family was travelling towards Yaragatti when a lorry loaded with cement, headign towards Belagavi, hit their car. Three others in the car were seriously injured and were admitted to local hospital.
A case has been registered at Murgod police station. Superintendent of Police Dr Sanjiv Patil visited the accident spot.
