BENGALURU: Three members of a gang from Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu were arrested at Jayanara 4th Block in the city for duping people with an offer of exchanging original currency notes for higher value, promising to give Rs 30 lakh for every Rs 10 lakh in original notes.
The Jayanagar police are searching for the other members of the gang. The trio was caught red-handed with a suitcase containing bundles of notes, with original notes on the top and bottom and blank sheets in between. The police seized them with Rs 15,000 in real cash.
The gang had been active in Tamil Nadu and had recently started operating in Bengaluru. On a tip-off, the Jayanagar police traced the gang when they were standing with money in Jayanagar’s 4th Block.
