BENGALURU: Three people have been arrested by CCB cyber crime police for posting lewd messages to Ramya on social media. The three men, hailing from Kolar, Chitradurga and Ballari, had made obscene comments about Ramya on social media.
The CCB tracked down the men by their IP addresses and took them into custody. Ramya had lodged a complaint against 13 people, and the police have now arrested three individuals in connection with the case.
Ramya praised the Bengaluru police for their efforts, stating that those who tarnish the dignity of women will be apprehended and that no one can escape the law. The CCB is still on the lookout for the remaining accused.
In a message on her X handle, Ramya wrote thanking Home Minister and City Police Commissioner and said, “I thank our Home Minister Dr Parameshwar avru @DrParameshwara and Seemant Kumar Singh avru @seemantsingh96 Commissioner of Police Bengaluru @CPBlr and the entire team at CCB for the swift action taken on the complaint”.
The CCB police have intensified their investigation into the case of obscene messages sent to Ramya. Initially, Ramya had filed a complaint mentioning 43 accounts and later added five more accounts, bringing the total to 48 accounts.
After the FIR was registered, many of the accounts were deleted. However, the police wrote to the social media companies, requesting them to provide the IP addresses and account details. The companies complied, providing the police with all the necessary information, including details of the deleted accounts. The police are now expected to take action and apprehend those who sent the obscene messages.
