HASSAN: More than 25 students have taken ill after consuming contaminated water at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School at Khazi Mohalla in Alur town.

The MLA takes the school authorities to task.

On Tuesday, MLA H K Kumaraswamy visited the school and inspected the facilities. The hostel lacks proper bathrooma and toilet facilities and the MLA directed the authorities to provide them within 15 days and to also maintain hygiene and cleanliness. He also warned of strict action against the school authorities in such instances recur.

Meanwhile, parents of the affected children took the hostel warden to task over the lack of proper facilities. The parents of some of the recovered children chose to take their wards back home saying that they will send the children after they have completely recovered.
