CHIKKAMAGALUR: A 22-year-old final-year degree student died suddenly due to a heart attack while studying in her hostel room at Sringeri town early on Tuesday morning. The deceased was identified as Disha.
A student at JCBM College in Sringeri, Disha was a resident of the Backward Classes Welfare Department’s Post-Metric Girls’ Hostel. Hailing from Paduvalli near Megarhalli village in Tirthahalli taluk, Disha had a history of heart problems and was undergoing treatment.
On Tuesday morning, she woke up early and was studying in her hostel room when she suddenly complained of chest pain. The hostel warden and other students rushed her to a private hospital in Sringeri, where she was declared dead. The police have registered a case, and an investigation is under way.
