The cattle were being transported illegally to a slaughter house in Bengaluru.

DAVANAGERE: Hindu activists rescued 21 heads of cattle, including two buffaloes, which were being transported illegally to a slaughter house from Ranebennur to Bengaluru, on Sunday night. The rescued animals were later sent to an cow shelter near Avaragere.

Activists of the Hindu Janajagruti Vedike intercepted the truck carrying the cattle near the Regulated Market Committee (RMC) and handed over the animals to the police. They later lodged a complaint with the RMC Yard police who have taken up further investigation.
