TUMAKURU: Twenty head of cattle, headed for a slaughter house, were rescued near Nittur Pura village in Gubbi taluk on Monday night. The cattle were being transported illegally in a goods vehicle.
Acting on a tip-off, Bajrang Dal and BJP activists intercepted the vehicle and upon inspection, 20 heads of cattle were found. The activists handed over three accused individuals to the Gubbi police.
The cattle were rescued and saved from being taken to the slaughterhouse illegally. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
